Army Leader's Book 4.3.17

Army Leader's Book (LB) is a comprehensive tool tailored to help leaders effectively manage their Soldiers' essential, non-sensitive information to enhance leadership and ensure operational readiness. LB enables monitoring and recording of crucial data such as APFT/ACFT scores, weapons proficiency, body composition metrics, training and MedPros schedules.

Among its various functionalities, LB incorporates features such as PERSTAT for tracking absences and automatic daily PERSTAT calculation, appointment scheduling, detailed statistics for APFT and ACFT, profiles, records of body composition and weapon proficiency, flag notifications, rating systems, MedPros documentation, comprehensive training logs compliant with AR 350-1 guidelines, equipment inventory management (weapons, optics, protective gear, assigned vehicles), military license details and qualifications tracking, duty roster organization, task assignment tracking, HR actions management, counseling records keeping, awards and evaluations management, an active alert roster system, essential post directory and contact numbers compilation, note-taking capabilities, inclusion of military creeds like NCO Charge and NCO Vision along with patriotic elements like the Army Song, Army Values, Code of Conduct, Oath of Enlistment, and Promotion Verbiage.

Considering the sensitivity of the stored information, LB prioritizes security by utilizing Firestore, a Google cloud database service known for its outstanding data protection measures. Firestore encrypts data both during transit to the server and at rest on the server. The application further applies stringent security protocols to ensure that only authorized personnel can access the stored data. To maintain data privacy and compliance standards, leaders are advised to obtain consent from their Soldiers prior to inputting any data into LB and secure their agreement through a Privacy Act Statement. It is recommended to input only information that Soldiers are comfortable with sharing. The only mandatory fields within LB are Rank and Last Name.
